Day 59 - Looking for the Sun

Photobucket

I am looking for the sun so I can wear my cool sunglasses! Instead of buying a new bathing suit (gave those up years ago) I now treat myself to so awesome looking shades.

Day 58 - The Start of a Beautiful Day

Photobucket

The sky was beautiful this morning, it looked like it was on fire when I took this picture.

Day 57 - Getting Down

Photobucket

This is my youngest grandson Isaac, who was on the floor. It is so easy to just shoot down on children to get the photo. But how much better it is when we get down on their level. I was laying on my belly on the floor for this awesome picture of him.

Day 56 - Marinated Salad

Photobucket

Sorry this isn't one of my better pictures I was in a hurry so it isn't as clear as I would like. This is the salad I fixed for the dinner tonight. It is so easy to fix, just whatever fresh veg's that you like then dump a bottle of your favorite Italian dressing on it. Let it marinate overnight at least.

Day 55 - Fresh Rolls

Photobucket

Can you smell them?? Oh boy I can but I can't eat them because they are for the dinner I am making at church tomorrow. Our church hosts a Wed. night dinner the last Wed of every month. This is the first time I have volunteered to cook the dinner.
The menu is as follows:
Lasagna, marinated vegetables for the salad, green beans, rolls and I have two other ladies making desserts and not sure what they are fixing but I know it will be yummy.

P.S. No great secret to this roll recipe, I just bought the frozen dough "Rhodes" let the dough thaw, and rise them baked them. I had to have enough for everyone to have at least two rolls so I made 108 (minus the two my dh and I ate).

Day 54 - White Out

Photobucket

Yesterday while our southern gospel group was practicing at the church we had a white out. The snow was coming down in these huge flakes about the size of a quarter. Since we can't see out the windows where we practice I'm not sure how long it snow this way but we ended up with around 2 inches in just 2 hours. Glad it stopped just before it was time for church to start.
I took this picture looking out the window of the church with my cell phone. I used Graffi soft Black and White filter on the picture.

Day 53- Teddy

Photobucket

Something that has been well loved will show it if you look closely. This was my teddy bear growing up as a child. It has been well loved as you can see by the fur that is missing, his head needs sewed back on again too.

Day 52 - Spoon it Up

Photobucket

I love this gravy ladle that has been passed down with the family silver. I wanted to show you the detail on the handle.

Day 51 - Lexie

Photobucket

Just a quick pic today of Lexie. Sorry this is short but I am extremely busy today.
Have a great day.

Day 50 - I'm Gonna Tell

Photobucket

Looks like a pretty innocent snowman right? Well, I don't know what he does when we are out of the house but as soon as we return Lexie has to tell us everything he has been up to. She will run to us and to the snowman and bark, bark, bark until I acknowledge her, then she will stop. Well I told now it is up to them what they do with you. I thought it would stop after she got use to him being around but it hasn't.

So you better watch out for those snowmen, hummmmmmmmmmm wonder what he is thinking behind that smile??

Day 49 - Angel Trumpet

Photobucket

I had only seen these flowers in a catalog but when I went to the green house at Kingwood Center I saw these amazing "Angel Trumpet". They really are as large as the catalog had said they are, they measure about 7" long. It really is a stunning plant and I just might have to have one for my porch this year. Even if it doesn't survive the winter.

Day 48 - Chocolate

Photobucket

Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate everywhere! I love it all, milk chocolate, white chocolate but my favorite is dark chocolate. My friend gave me this whole bag of chocolates for valentines day, now she thinks she was being a good friend. If it had been a bag of the candy hearts no problem I could stay away from those but not the chocolates. Guess I will start my diet next week...............................

Day 47 - Blue Vase

Photobucket

I love this blue vase I got as a wedding present so many years ago. It is about 2 ft tall and I love the whole shape and the swirls of the glass. It is so different from other vases that you might see, just like us we are all so very different from each other! It is exciting meeting new people and getting to know them better and seeing how unique they are.

If no one has told you lately I will, "YOU ARE SPECIAL"!!! ((((hugs))) have a great day.

Day 46- Smell the Flowers

Photobucket

Sorry I am really late in posting today! I had a terrible headache all day, it was more than just a normal headache and then we had a lot of church activities on top of that. I will catch up tomorrow on the blog hopping as I still don't feel that well.

Day 45 - Box Full of Fun & Challenged

How many times have you bought something for a child and they have more fun playing with the box than the toy?? These pictures are proof that it is true a box is loads of fun.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Isaac played with the box most of the day until he turned it the other way and sat on it. Well the box had had enough and it went flat, I guess Isaac wasn't happy that the box didn't work anymore, lol.

Day 44 - Rosacea Skin Program

Photobucket

These products are my skin treatment program for Rosacea. The Sher System is known as the only effective drug free alternative for acne and rosacea. The products work interactively, incorporating water therapy.

I hated taking drugs for my rosacea and all they were doing was thinning my skin making it even redder. So in turn you pile on more makeup trying to cover up the redness. So I went on a search to find something better and stumbled on the "Sher System"
Even my husband noticed a big difference and won't let me get out of my products. It is a little expensive to get started but it is worth every penny. I spent more on prescription medicines that were not working and there are side effects from those.

If I tell someone now that I have rosacea they don't believe me because I now have a clear complexion.

day 43 - Home Inprovement

We haven't owned our home very long so as you know it is always a work in progress to get things the way you want. The house was pretty run down when we bought it and dirty. We wanted to buy a house that wouldn't be to large since the kids are all gone. It is fine when just the two of us but when company would come the kitchen drove me nuts!
Photobucket

The kitchen is long and narrow, the table in this picture is round and could expand to oval when you put the leaf in. But then you couldn't move and you better have everything out of the oven cause you could not open the door.
So I needed a table that would be more functional all the time. I love to watch the home improvement shows to get ideas. I had seen one where they put in an eating nook to give the illusion of more space. So that is what we did too, I looked online to find one I liked as I didn't care for the country style that I had seen. I found this one that is more contemporary and with being able to assemble it yourself you save around $300.00 over buying it in a furniture store.

Photobucket

I love it, and it does just what I wanted it to do!! When we have the kids home with the grandchildren it worked great.

Day 42 Christmas in February

As I told you yesterday due to different circumstances we ended up having our Christmas yesterday with our daughter and the grandsons. So here are a few pictures from that, it is really hard to get good pictures of two fast moving grandsons. They were everywhere so I didn't get as many that turned out as I would have liked but of course I wouldn't subject you to all of them anyway, lol.

This is our youngest grandson Isaac with his new toy. That is a microphone in his hand and he was loving hearing his voice through it.

Photobucket

And of course we have to start Jace off on the right foot with his first laptop.
Photobucket

He soon became absorbed in it like his Grandpa does (me too).

Photobucket

And one more of Isaac, I love the drool on the chin here.

Day 41 - Howl at the Moon

Photobucket

I was late posting my picture for the day today because we finally had Christmas with my daughter. We both had car trouble at Christmas and their car wasn't fixed in time to come to our house. Then we had lots of snow so travel wasn't an option right then, then I got sick. We finally made it down and had a great day together. It is so much fun watching little ones open presents! So I will have pictures of our day tomorrow.

I finally took the challenge an photographed the moon. I should have done it the night before because the sky was clearer but I still like how this turned out.

Day 40 - Some favorites

It looks like the ones that posted yesterday have the same tastes as me. I prefer the original ones too so when I print them out to frame that is the way I am going.
We have a beautiful park around here, I think it was an old estate at one point. I love walking around there and taking pictures. I have tons from there but here are a few of my favorites for you to look at today.

Photobucket
I love these tall grasses reaching up against the blue sky.

Photobucket

This place is filled with flowers of all kinds. They also have a green house on the property that you can go through.

Photobucket

This is just one of the fountains that are Kingwood Center, but it is my favorite one.

Day 39 The Garden Walk

I was doing a little photo editing on these photos and wanted some opinions on what you like better. First I will show you the orginals and then I used a filter on them called Old Romance. I was thinking of printing these out, framing them for my office.

Day 38 - Oranges

Photobucket

I bought a big bag of oranges at the store this week so I thought I would try my hand at some still life. I am enjoying doing these daily photos, it challenges me to try different lighting and settings with my camera.

I have a Kodak 1253 point & shoot camera, it does go up to 12 mega pixels though. There are things I can do that I hadn't tried before starting this daily challenge. I figure I better learn this one better because my goal is to get a SLR camera when I get enough money saved. I want to be able to work it manually not just on the auto settings.

Day 37 - Ready Set Action

Photobucket

I wanted to try my hand at an action shot and the best chance I have at that is playing ball with Lexie. The evening is when she wants to play, it is in our family room where the lighting is terrible. I did manage to get a pretty good shot though, which isn't easy since I'm the one throwing the ball and taking the picture. So I can't believe it even turned out this well.

Day 36 - The Wonder of Snow

Photobucket

I love this picture of Lexie when she was experiencing her first major snow fall. The flakes were coming down so fast and she is gazing up at the sky trying to figure all of this out. Awh...... the wonder of snow and nature!

I wonder do we still look at the world with fresh eyes, or do you think yeah, I've seen this stuff a thousand times? I never fail to experience a pull at my heart and emotions when I see a sunset, a new bloom on a flower, a nest full of eggs and a new born baby. All of these are evidence of God's amazing work around us.

Take time today to look at the world through fresh eyes, maybe you will see something in a whole new light.

Day 35 - Game Boy

Photobucket

The wonder of playing a game boy for the first time captured my grandsons attention here.

I have been tagged by Chris
This is the tag I'm supposed to list six interesting things about me. Link back to the blog that tagged me: Chreamp's 365 Images

1. I was never a popular gal in school so I didn't date a whole lot of people. I was in college and began dating is guy, he didn't kiss me until about our 5th date. When I got back to my room I told my roommates that he was the guy I was going to marry. (We hadn't dated long enough for me to even know this) Well 6 months later we did get married and will be celebrating out 36 wedding anniversary in July.

2. When I was in college I went with a group of college students to help some missionaries in Japan. We were there for 3 months singing and talking with college students. We even sang in a leper colony.

3. I am in a southern gospel group called, "Vision" where I am one of the lead singers. If you hear me talk you would think I might sing alto but I am a very high soprano.

4. I have moved 21 times and have lived in three different states. My husband is a minister so that is the reason for so many moves.

5. The smallest town we ever lived in was one where if you blinked you were through the town, population of 900. But we have two fellows that were known as the wavers who even made it on 20/ 20 as a story. Anyone driving through there if they were out in the yard, they would throw up there hand and wave.

So now I need to pick 5 other to tag:

Tami
Karen
Siwan
Janmary
Susie

Day 34 - Amaryllis Display

Photobucket

My grandsons gave me a pot that had an amaryllis bulb in it, these are amazing flowers. I loved watching it grow until finally the blooms opened up with their spectacular display. I had just gotten my new digital camera so I had fun taking pictures as the blooms changed size.

Day 33 - A little FuFu

Photobucket

Every girl needs a little makeup fix in the morning, Lexie is no exception. I told you I have a crazy dog, ever since she was a puppy she has to have her blush put on in the morning.

I was playing around with her one morning while putting on my makeup, and brushed her face with the blusher brush. Ever since she comes in and won't leave until we do this. As you can see she keeps an eye on that brush and at the last moment will try and catch it as I move it away the last time.

Day 32 - Get In the Picture

Photobucket

I have tons of pictures that I need to get scrap or put into an album. As I looked back over the years there were so many pictures where I am missing. I was the one taking the pictures and didn't hand the camera to anyone so I could be in there somewhere. Although my dh who was the one usually around has been known to cut heads off, lol. (maybe that would have been a good thing) Any way when I hit the digital age I figured out I could be in the pictures. Using a timer is great but when you don't want to put the baby down then just take the picture anyway.
This was our last grandson to be born on his first day home. They live almost 3 hours from us and we don't get to see them much so no way was I turning lose of that baby. So I think I did a pretty good job taking a picture one handed! It is also one of my favorite pictures of that day.
